Rooted in craft. Inspired by India.
Desi at heart. Built for her.
We're Sudhanshi and Arushi — friends since school, one an MBA, one a CA, both from Rajasthan.
When we started earning, we did what you're supposed to do: bought the bags and the brands we'd wanted for years. All foreign names. And somewhere in the middle of it we stopped and asked ourselves — why did we only ever trust brands from elsewhere to make something world-class? The things we bought looked fine. They also looked like everyone else's. Nothing in them was us.
That bothered us more than it should have. We'd grown up in Rajasthan, surrounded by block printing and craft that the whole world happily wears as everyday fashion — while back home it stays filed under "festive" and "ethnic," pulled out twice a year.
So we started Ekara. Not to make ethnic things. To make everyday things — bags, and pieces for your home and your life — rooted in Rajasthani craft, printed and made by hand, by people who look like us. Made for the ordinary days, not the occasion shelf.
Indian, not ethnic. For the life you're actually living.
